Overnight Survival Scenario

Sunday 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 am.
 Breakfast, Debriefing and Review

No one ever wants to find themselves in a position to have to use the knowledge and skill required in survival training; least of all aircrew members. But often times even a short course in survival skills can make the difference in whether or not you make it out alive. This 26 hour course is an intro to the psychology and hand on skills for survival. Together the flight crews will explore the essentials for surviving a hard landing, learning how to keep fear in check, and problem solving your way out using what you have available. 

Class will consist of didactic and field experience in Southern Indiana Wilderness Area

The course will include:

* Pre-incident preparation
* Hard Landing and Emergency Shutdown
* Fire Extinguisher hands on training
* Survival Psychology and Crew Dynamics
* Air Crew Survival Equipment
* (ELT/PLB) Emergency Locator Transmitter Operations
* Situational Assessment and Adaptation
* Resource and Task Prioritization
* Fire Craft Building and Hands on Exercise
* Emergency Shelter Construction
* Rescue Signaling
* Hands on Over Night Survival Skill Exercise 

This fun and educational experience is sure to leave you with a sense of confidence and understanding of survival techniques that may some day save your life.
 

The Classroom section of the training will be at the Huntingburg, Indiana Airport and the over night scenario will be in a wilderness area near Ferdinard, Indiana
